This is a collection of some of Duke's best works. I enjoy all of these compositions except for "Black and Tan Fantasy" - even though, it's considered classic, I've always hated it. It's just beyond me why he decided to screw up the otherwise good composition by inserting the Funeral March melody in the end! What on Earth was that supposed to mean?!
As for the other ones:
"Black Beauty" is one of my favorites, with that wonderful, mysterious, sultry melody. This is a piano version of the song - sounds cute, but I still prefer the orchestra version.
"Creole Love Call" is a well-known classic. This version is probably the most well-known.
"I'm Gonna Hang Around My Sugar" is cool but the quality of sound is very low.
"The Mooche" is a drawn-out, dismal, dark and mysterious tune. The version uploaded here is a bit different from what I am used to - for instance, it lacks the vocal passage, - but overall it is still very good.
"East St Louis Toodle-oo" is good albeit sort of "dark", at least its main theme.
"Jazz Convulsion" is a nice and energetic. "Saratoga Swing" is not so "swingy", in fact, it reminds me of "Creole Love call". Love those doublebass passages!
